local canal piking :)

Today me, Keith Dutton, Brian Sefton, Bernie Brennan  and Bernie's mate Mark set off on our piking adventure hoping to not blank after last weeks great catches. We left the house at 4:50 am to go to Tesco to get some snacks and then pick Brian up. after loading the van we shortly arrive at the local canal. I only know that we got there setting up at 6:00 because my school alarm went off on my tablet. So we had finally set up just before first light so I decided to set the pole up. After about 10 minutes I had the first catch of the day a small perch. Shortly after I put it back in I had hooked into a similar sized perch and again caught another but, it went quiet so I left the pole in the water and watching it while I was speaking to Brian and my dad.  My dad spotted the float had gone under so he grabbed the pole and brought it in it was a nice silver roach. By this time Brian had gone back because he was getting drop back's so my dad went to investigate. Then my dad went to this bridge to see the view I was sat there playing fifa and then all I hear was a BEEP from my dads left-hand rod so I shouted him he came running but, it was only line bites. I went for a pee and then I got a run my dad struck it he then handed me the rod I played it for a few minuets and finally landed it. We un hooked it and then took some photos then I weighed it, it was 5lb 4oz Then shortly after we put It back. This was about 9:00 am and had plans of leaving at 10 because of the weather forecast It went quiet so we decided at quarter too 10 to pack away. we left our rods out with our bait runners on and collected the pod and the bank sticks. My dad kindly volunteered me to reel my rods in first then he reeled his in. Once the rods were in the holdall I grabbed what I could and started walking to the van then I saw a strange thing Brian was first packed away so he decided to come and put his gear away. Shortly after my dad came and filled the van. We had finally left and then dropped Brian off and headed off to Asda for my Sunday roast. today I completed two PB,s my first canal pike and biggest canal pike. It was a great day out fishing and a fun day because I didn't blank
